Paid Parental Leave was made legislation on 17 June 2010 to be effective on 1 January 2011. Funded by the Federal Government employers need to know who is eligible and what you need to do to administer the payment to eligible parents.

As we are ‘officially’ coming out of recession many companies are licking their wounds and so are their employees. This presents the challenge to pacify staff who have worked hard all year perceiving it has been fruitless for them as new opportunities start to come into view on the horizon.

Recent studies have shown that less than one third of companies have not made plans for recovery and rebuilding as the Australian economy starts to regain strength.
Many companies have over estimated employee engagement and risk turnover and associated costs of disgruntled employees as they leave for greener pastures.
Whilst the down turn may have provided opportunity for shedding 'dead wood', for some employers the cost of carrying that over the past years is far greater.After recession it is common to have a re-shuffle of talent throughout the employment marketplace.
